Ashley L. Upkins
Ashley L. Upkins, founder of Upkins Law, PLLC, is of counsel for Ben Crump Law in Nashville. She represents clients in a variety of different types of cases, including labor & employment, and general business and commercial litigation, among other areas. In law practice, Ms. Upkins is regarded as a rising star and skillful litigator.
Ms. Upkins has always felt it her calling to advocate for justice. Ms. Upkins, a Nashville native, earned her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University. Following her undergraduate studies, Ms. Upkins worked for a Fortune 50 company, assisting in the business acquisition of mid-level IT companies.
Ms. Upkins is a member of the inaugural class of Belmont University College of Law with a certification in Health Law. Determined to join an organization aimed at promoting justice in the law, she committed her time and talents to the National Bar Association. She worked to create a NBLSA affiliate chapter at Belmont and became the founding president of Belmont Law’s Black Law Students Association.
Later, Ms. Upkins served as the SRBLSA alumni relations director. She was named the Corporate Law Section Fellow, the 2013 Commercial Law Section Diversity Empowerment Scholarship recipient, and the NBLSA Sandy Brown Memorial Scholarship recipient. She is a graduate of ScaleUp Nashville, an active member of the Nashville Bar Association, and served as secretary for Napier-Looby Bar Association, an NBA affiliate chapter. She currently serves as the Region VI Director for the National Bar Association, covering the states of Tennessee, Ohio, Kentucky, and Michigan.
